Medford’s Courtyard Donuts, George’s Auto Body in East Boston, Renzo Brick Oven Pizzeria in Revere and the Salem Witch Museum don’t have much in the common.

But they do share this: They’re all hoping to get a piece of the action if a Mohegan Sun casino opens on the Revere side of the Suffolk Downs racetrack.

Enrollment has surged in a points program aimed at encouraging Mohegan customers to shop off-site at participating vendors. In December, there were more than 60 participants. As of the end of last week, there were more 150.

Last week’s referendum in Revere has opened the gates to a horse race between Wynn Resorts’ resort casino project in Everett and Mohegan Sun’s proposal in Revere. The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is expected to award the Boston-area casino license to one of those two, sometime later this spring. It’s fair to say that the economic ripple effects will be a big factor in the commission’s decision.
