Revere High School, Class of ’66, 50th Reunion The Revere High School Class of ’66 will hold its 50th reunion at The Marina Restaurant & Bar at “The Wharf” 543 North Shore Road in Revere. The long, long, long awaited 50th is almost completely organized and formal invitations will be sent by email, or snail mail if no email known, sometime late May or June. The event, to be held on September 17th 2016, starting at 6:30 PM, is planned to be informal….to keep everyone moving and renewing old friendships. Food will be served buffet style and both cash bar and DJ will be available to keep spirits high and fun! Revere Beach Kite Festival set for May 15th across from Kelly’s

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE   Revere, MA, April 19, 2016 – Revere Beach Partnership, the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that creates some of Revere’s best-loved events including the Sand Sculpting Festival and Pumpkin Festival, invites you to attend the Revere Beach Kite Festival, May 15th from 11AM – 2PM at Revere Beach, across from Kelly’s Roast Beef.   The first 300 kids (under the age of 12) will receive a complimentary kite. Kids will be able to decorate their own kite and then watch it fly! Thank you to Sea Side Kites for providing the kites for this event. 2016 CITY OF REVERE FITNESS CHALLENGE AND 5K ROAD RACE

Press Release- City of Revere The City of Revere is pleased to announce the 5th Annual Citywide Fitness Challenge, beginning on May 16, 2016 and culminating with a 5K Road Race and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run on June 11, 2016. The Fitness Challenge is FREE and the cost to register for the “Revere Runs” 5K Run & Walk for Fitness is $20.00 & $5.00 for Revere Youth ages 5-18. A portion of the proceeds from race registrations will be used to create four scholarships for Revere High School seniors.  We are looking for sponsors for this event. We have three levels of sponsorship available, Corporate, Champion, and Supporter. Please see descriptions below for more information.  All sponsors will be able to have a table at our health fair during the race on June 11th, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Garfield Middle School Lands Large Grant for School Re-Design

April 1, 2016 By Journal Staff-Seth Daniel The Garfield Middle School has been chosen as one of two schools statewide to participate in a $450,000 grant program by the Center for Collaborative Education – a grant that will try to bring the middle school in line with the high school’s Student Centered Learning model. “It will be an effort to expand what’s happening at the high school already,” said Supt. Dianne Kelly. “We want to have Student-Centered Learning at all schools in the future. This will be the first time we’ve expanded the model beyond the high school, which is significant.” The Center for Collaborative Education said the time is now to change the way teachers introduce information to students. “As the state’s student population grows more diverse, the one-size-fits-all model of schooling from the past will not close achievement gaps or produce citizens who are equipped with the knowledge, …
