Apple Crunch at Revere Beach Pumpkin Festival

In celebration of Food Day 2014, Revere on the Move, the Revere Beach Partnership, and the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources are sponsoring an Apple Crunch! At a pre-set time (~12:30pm), participants will line up along the beach and take a biig juicy CRUNCH out of a free apple in unison! Photos will then be posted on social media with #FoodDay2014 to show that Revere cares about nutrition and food policies! Revere Tornado Relief Fund established

Revere Mayor Dan Rizzo and a host of other federal and local officials will be on hand Friday to formally launch the Revere Tornado Relief Fund. http://www.reveretornadorelief.org The fund, created on GoFundMe.com, has a goal of raising $1 million. According to a statement by Rizzo, regular homeowner’s insurance plans may not cover much of the damage caused by the tornado. “Total estimated damage is in the millions of dollars. With the extreme rarity of the tornado in Revere, a vast majority of these costs will likely not be covered by private insurance,” he said. “We have set up this fund so that these residents and business owners are not alone in shouldering the burden of rebuilding their lives and our community.” There are several ways you can donate to the fund.
