Here are the winners from the 2012 Revere Beach Sand Sculpting Festival.
Third Place – Illusion
went to Dan Doubleday of Treasure Island, Florida. Dan is a 2 time World Champion winning both a Solo and Doubles gold medal. His titles include W.S.S.A. Europe Champion, North American Champion, Cervia (Italy) Champion, Treasure Island Champion, 2 times Sand Castle Days Champion, 3 times Texas Sand Fest Champion, 2 time Hampton Beach Champion, New England Champion, Tallahassee Champion.
Second Place – Everyone Has a Dark Side
went to Sue McGrew of Tacoma, Washington. Sue graduated from the University of Southern California of Los Angeles in 2008 with a BFA in Theatre- Stage Management, and a minor in sculpture. Her early introduction to sand makes her possibly one of the youngest professional sand sculptors, currently, of the world.
First Place – Bee to Be
Jonathan (Jobi) Bouchard, of Montreal, Canada took first prize for the third year with his sculpture, Bee to Be.
Peoples’ Choice – Skin and Bones
The peoples’ choice sculpture went to Stephane Robert of Montreal, Canada for his sculpture, Skin and Bones.
