In celebration of Food Day 2014, Revere on the Move, the Revere Beach Partnership, and the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources are sponsoring an Apple Crunch! At a pre-set time (~12:30pm), participants will line up along the beach and take a biig juicy CRUNCH out of a free apple in unison! Photos will then be posted on social media with #FoodDay2014 to show that Revere cares about nutrition and food policies!
Food Day is an annual, national event which inspires Americans to think and act on our diets and the food policies that help or hinder our well-being. According to the official website, it serves as “a day to resolve to make changes in our own diets and to take action to solve food-related problems in our communities at the local, state, and national level. In 2014, Food Day will have a special focus on food access and justice for food and farm workers.”
