Bocce on Revere Beach is back… Team Sign ups available now!
On August 22nd, the Rumney Marsh Burial Ground Restoration Committee will present its annual Bocce on the Beach tournament. This tournament, which takes place on Revere Beach, is crucial to the Committee’s efforts to preserve Revere’s first and only cemetery.
The Rumney Marsh Burial Ground, which dates back to at least 1693, is an irreplaceable historic resource. Among its occupants are soldiers who fought in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. It can be found on Butler Street and is open every day, weather permitting.
The Committee is currently looking for teams to take part in the tournament. Teams are made up of 4 people, and the buy-in per team is $200. All proceeds go towards restoration projects in the burial ground.
