Story by Eastie Times

The Annual Revere Beach Memorial is a candlelight vigil for families and friends who wish to remember a loved one that lost their life due to an overdose. The Revere CARES Coalition and the City of Revere are again organizing this touching event for Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, at the DCR William G. Reinstein Bandstand on Revere Beach (rain or shine). The event begins at sunset, approximately 7:00 PM, and will end around 8:00 PM. Individuals can register a name to be read by contacting Revere CARES at 781-485-6440 before 3 PM on Sunday the 15th or arriving between 5:45 PM and 6:45 PM on the night of the event.

Participants are invited to bring a photo of their loved one to be placed on the remembrance table or boards.

The program of the memorial consists of an introduction, inspirational readings/poems, lighting of candles, reading of names of those being remembered with a fire bell after each name, closing remarks, the Serenity Prayer, and music on the beach.
