America’s First Public Beach Fundraising On Behalf of Wounded Warrior Project Throughout 11th Annual National Sand Sculpting Festival, July 18 – 20, 2014

Revere, MA (July 1, 2014) – The Revere Beach Partnership is honored to announce its collaboration with the Wounded Warrior Project throughout the entirety of its “Stars and Stripes: A Tribute to our Nation’s Armed Forces” themed 2014 Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival from July 18 – 20, 2014.

The three-day union between both parties will allow those attending the 2014 Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival the opportunity to donate to the Wounded Warrior Project. Founded in 2002, the Wounded Warrior Project aims to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members. The organization also helps injured service members aid and assist each other and provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

“We are proud to be working with the Wounded Warrior Project during our 11th annual celebration of the world’s best sand sculptors at New England’s premier beach,” said John Hamel, Revere Beach Partnership Board of Directors President. “We can’t thank the brave men and women defending our country enough for their great sacrifices, and it will be an honor for us to pay tribute to them in front of 500,000 people at our annual sand sculpting festival.”

A portion of the event proceeds will also go towards the construction of a public playground in partnership with the Department of Conservation and Recreation. The playground, located in the parkland of theRevere Beach Reservation, will be an addition to the long list of attractions that have drawn families from all over New England to Revere Beach for the last several decades. Revere Beach Partnership plans for the first phase of the playground to be completed in 2016.

Hours for the 2014 Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 run from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, which is designated as “Celebrate Revere Day.” The event features an international sand sculptor competition, live entertainment, a food truck festival, dozens of exhibitors, amusements and a fireworks extravaganza.
