Veterans Day 2015 will be observed all across this great nation on Wednesday November 11th. Its a time for us all to recognize and honor the immense sacrifices made by our service men and women. We pay respect and show appreciation for those Veterans and their families who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

In a statement seen on the History Channels website an excerpt states…”On the 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month of 1918, an armistice , or temporary cessation of hostilities was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in the first World War then known as the Great War”.

Armistice Day was officially recognized as a federal holiday in 1938. Following World War II President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed legislation in 1954 that struck the word “Armistice” in favor of “Veterans” and from then on November 11th has become the day to honor all veterans of all wars.

On this Veterans Day we pay tribute to all Veterans-living or dead but especially give thanks to living veterans who have served their country honorably during war or peacetime.
