Enjoy Revere Beach with a taste of fall during WalkBoston’s Revere Walking Map Launch! On Saturday, October 18, 2014 starting at 11:00AM, we invite you to join WalkBoston for a walk to explore Revere Beach, which is one of the historic walks highlighted in the Revere Walking Map. Walkers can meet at the Edward J. Markey Footbridge (steps from the MBTA Blue Line’s Wonderland Station ) to learn about the history of the beach. The walk will lead to the Revere Beach Partnership’s Annual Fall Festival at the Oak Island Pavilions . The Revere Beach Partnership works to build awareness of and support for preservation of Revere Beach’s history and landscape. WalkBoston has been working with the city of Revere since 2012 to promote walking and advocate for safer pedestrian access in the city. The Revere Walking Map has been made possible through funding from the John H. and H. Naomi Tomfohrde Foundation, Massport, Modell’s Sporting Goods, Revere School Committee member Carol Tye, Karla and Richard Karash, and from Revere residents and local businesses – including a successful Kickstarter campaign with over 60 supporters! Thank you to everyone who made the map possible. The Revere Walking Map is a great tool to discover and explore Revere’s beautiful landscape, and diverse neighborhoods. Come join us for the walk and pick up a free printed version on October 18th! Your response will help us estimate pumpkins needed for the festival since each child will receive one. You can also email [email protected] or call 617-367-9255 for more info. Getting There Blue Line – Take the Blue Line to Wonderland Station . The Markey Footbridge leads from the station to Revere Beach.
