A $1 billion resort casino at Suffolk Downs will provide Revere with jobs, local business benefits and millions in community investment thanks to a historic deal signed today between the developers and Mayor Rizzo. Under the agreements with Caesars Entertainment and Suffolk Downs, Revere will receive $16 million in one-time community investments, including the new high school football field and youth center, and $15 million in annual payments once the resort is fully operational. The amount of the payments will be determined in part by the resort’s performance. The deal will also include $45 million in road and transportation improvements, preferences to Revere and Boston residents for the 4,000 permanent jobs and 2,500 construction jobs, job training programs and $7.5 million in annual spending with Revere-based businesses.
