DCR implements No Smoking Ban on State Beaches

No Smoking on Revere Beach….. Story by Revere Advocate In recent weeks, Revere residents have taken notice of some new signage in a few locations added along the beach-side of Revere Beach Blvd. which state “No Smoking” anywhere on the sandy beach area. Residents were taken by surprise claiming to be unaware of a smoking ban at “America’s Oldest Public Beach.” In a telephone and email interview with Mass. Dept. of Conservation & Recreation (DCR) Asst. Press Secretary Kevin O’Shea this past week, we asked some pertinent questions regarding the new signage. Calling it a new initiative for this year, O’Shea said that the new smoking ban signage was an internal decision passed back in October 2014 under former DCR Commissioner John P. Revere Beach Playground Public Meeting Announced

PUBLIC MEETING REVERE BEACH PLAYGROUND Wednesday, June 24, 2015 – 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Revere City Hall City Council Chambers 281 Broadway, 2nd Floor, Revere, MA At this meeting, DCR and the Revere Beach Partnership will present, and obtain public input on, a preferred concept for a new playground and potential additional recreation amenities within the Revere Beach Reservation.  The public meeting presentation will be viewable the following day on DCR’s website at http://www.mass.gov/eea/agencies/dcr/public-outreach/public-meetings/.
